Building The New York Style Fold

The hose length is initially folded so that the couplings are side by side - The midpoint of the length is then folded on top of the couplings.

The length is then folded again placing the distant end over the coupling end.

To finish the fold, change direction by folding the coupling side back onto the distant end of the length.

Band each length in two places using seat-belts.

The folds are laid out adjacent to each other. The couplings are aligned for a rapid connection.

The couplings are connected and the hose packs are ready for advancement and staging.

The lead length (nozzle) is carried up to the fire floor. The last length is connected to the standpipe.
